Many people do not require long-term oncology clinic follow-up, and can be safely discharged from our clinic. This usually occurs at 5 – 8 years from diagnosis. Some patients do however require long-term follow-up, either by their general practitioners, or in the oncology clinic.
Our long-term follow-up clinic is run by an experienced medical officer who focuses on the needs of patients who require long-term follow-up. This clinic is aimed particularly at patients who we deem to be at risk for late recurrence of cancer, new cancer development, or possible late side effects of treatment.
In the event that you are discharged from our clinic, we do not close your file. Your information remains available should you ever require a report from us, or in the event that you wish to visit us again.
